My current position with the largest computer manufactures in the world is in World Wide Regulatory Compliance. Responsibilities as an PG Regulatory Engineering Sr. Analyst includes Lab Management for testing of all Dell Products for Electromagnetic Compatibility. This includes the operation of highly sophisticated receivers and spectrum analyzers including those by Rohde & Schwarz as well as Hewlett Packard. Proper usage and testing techniques are used on a daily basis with the test equipment to certify computer compliance to conducted and radiated radio frequency emissions. Work also includes Immunity Testing using Haefely Surge and Pulse test equipment. Electrostatic Discharge testing is done with EM Test ESD Generators.
Extensive work with the computers tested include complete disassembly and reassembly with changing components, and the ability to determine the problem and area of the system from which excessive radiated emissions may be seen and to correct those emissions. Data is taken in a semi-automated test and entered into permanent files for review and submittal to EMC agencies throughout the world.
Reports are generated for submittal to governmental agencies including the FCC (USA), CE (Europe), VCCI (Japan), BSMI (Taiwan), CCC (China) and other agencies worldwide. I have received an BPI award for developments in the report writing process.
My position has included frequent travel to Taipei to work with manufactures and test houses dealing with our products manufactured in Taiwan. Travel has also included multiple trips to Korea for submittal issues in that country. Anticipate other travel worldwide as needed. Personal travel has included Central America and most recently, Australia.

My position with IBM was in the Quality Assurance Stress Technology lab in one of IBM's largest plants. Experience included detailed work in IBM's newest full size RISC System computers. Job responsibilities included Guardband Stress Testing of PS/1, PS/2 and System 6000 computers. Stress testing included high and low temperature environments in special chambers with controlled voltage variations. Testing also included Torque Testing and Failure Analysis. I also handled data processing that was involved with each test using programs including Symphony, Display Write and other custom programs.
I had additional work experience in analog/digital testing of surface mount technology computer boards and in assembly, including component insertion and solder wave. Class taken at IBM included ECAT Technology, Laser Safety and Chemical Identification and Safety.
